Correct, but the XTW-4 obviously has been moved and seems to be without engines now. And as it is now placed next to the preserved Be-6 I guess it is not operational anymore.Kanarie wrote:All, also very well visible via Google Earth on the coordinates
As a side note: The Be-6s seem to be called "Qingliu" by the Chinese. I think this has to do with the upgrade which included new engines (turbo props?) being installed.
Anybody more details on this?
To my surprise there are at least two more SH5s out there:
Proto "02" is a "known"aircraft, however now at a unknown location.
A "new" one is the "03" that can be found on the shores of the lake near Kunmin now for over 20 years.
(It has been displaced a few meters since the Google picture was taken at: 24°56'10.42"N 102°38'41.16"E ).

Apparently, the SH5 builder in Jingmen, Hubei province is still active with the SH5 number #2 proto on the platform http://www.hkhongtu.com/en/read.asp?id=38" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Great, after ending my 2 year search for the 02 yesterday, it seems this aircraft is now in the enlarged China Aviation Museum north of Beijing!
