Hi i like to buy a canon 100-400mm L usm is lens, but the question is: If i like to buy hem second hand, where do i have to watch out for??? i mean its possible for me to buy a lens from 1 year old, but i have to know if its a good lens(inside) what is the best way to see if the lens is okay?????
i know the best way is to buy a new one but paying 1500 or 1000 is a big difference for me!

Im close to sell mine, one year and 3 months old at this moment. Treated very well and has always served my well but my toughts now go out to the 70-200L 2.8 IS
But its only the maybe fase..
You might want to watch out for dust inside the lens and feel if the push and pull system slides smoothly. And that all the rings turn correctly.

Look how sharp the lens is at f8/f11 on 400mm's a friend of mine told me that some of the older Canon 100-400mm's can be a little soft on the high end. (he said before 2001)
And offcourse handle the lens, allthough I don't have much problems with it, people tend to find the big white a heavy lens (1.3K plus)
See if the lenshood is included also.
And testshots testshots testshots
