Expect some more security checks in the near future..........
BERLIN, Germany (CNN) --
German authorities say they have arrested three men on suspicion of planning attacks on Frankfurt's international airport and the U.S. air base in Ramstein.
The suspects are said to be members of an "Islamist-motivated terrorist group" and are expected to appear before a federal magistrate.A statement from the German Attorney General's Office issued Wednesday said police conducted overnight raids in several German states, but gave no more details."There was an imminent threat," German Defense Minister Franz Josef Jung told Germany's ARD broadcaster. Two suspects have German citizenship while the third was of a different nationality, CNN's Fred Pleitgen reported. The men were arrested Tuesday evening and were close to carrying out the attacks, the Sudwestrundfunk public broadcaster said.At U.S. European Command in Stuttgart, Capt. Jeff Gradec said German authorities had alerted them of a possible terrorist threat to American installations, but not specifically Ramstein. Gradec said EUCOM had no plans to raise its force protection levels in light of the plots.
Ramstein Air Base is located in western Germany's Rhineland-Palatinate state and is about 125 kilometers (75 miles) southeast of Frankfurt. The base is a major transit point for the U.S. military into the Middle East and Central Asia. The German terror arrests came a day after Danish police arrested eight "militant Islamists," accusing them of storing "unstable explosives."
Authorities in both Germany and the United States have warned of the possibility of a terrorist attack, and security measures have been raised, according to a report from The Associated Press. However CNN's International Security Correspondent Paula Newton reported that intelligence officials have been calling for more cooperation to combat terror plots in Europe, in particular the faster transfer of information between different countries.
Europe is at high risk, officials say, due not only to the Iraq war, but also the NATO mission in Afghanistan, to which many European countries contribute, she said, adding that the Muslim population in Europe is beginning to feel more alienated than it has done in previous decades. "This brings Europe to the battleground," Newton said
No here we are *not* going again......
You know this is always the case, you know it's not allowed to take pictures close to the fence and towards the base, so nothing will change.
Just go and enjoy and have a nice chat with the police, they are also just doing their work.
And indeed banter, the US police (at least, I don't know for the German) is using help from locals and spotters.
And if you don't trust it, go to the main gate, and report that you will be out there. At least when the police comes, you can tell that you have nicely "asked" (read: told) them at the gate....

Hi DJ,
For your info.
We have 2 places left coming saturday to Ramstein, so when you like to go with us. Please ask!!
What Oscar is writing is corect. 2 weeks ago the German Police told me that they need help from spotters to look for strange persons (terrorist).
Because the spotters are the whole day in RS, the Polizei not.
They are busy to made a list with the Die-Hard RS spotters. I also will help these guy's when i'm there, but in place for that i offer a spotterscorner at both sides were you can take pictures and were you can park your car!!
Cheers,
Eric
