Crew arrived at the Saudi Herc at around 1500lt, openened all doors and then lay themselves in the cool shadow of the aircraft's tail... Nothing happened until 1615lt when the cargo arrived. But at 1650lt the cargo was still waiting to be loaded...that's when I decided to p*ss off home...

No idea wether the Herc left later today, but it sure looked like they were planning to.

Wonderful day, nice weather and good company!

Regards,

Stephan

The Irish AW.139 was seen today, August 4th, as well. No info on its serial. We wanted to ask an Agusta-technician who was walking up to us, but unfortunately he wasn't too pleased with us being near the fence...

Also today FWP.149D D-ENJA, formerly 90+14 of the Luftwaffe, left at 1040lt (maybe this a local, I'm not sure).

Stephan

Why is Antwerpen mentioned in there, was this its destination?

The AW-139 is the 274. It passed over Koksijde on 26 June on its way to Bierset.

This helicopters are very new, first big maintenance in Belgium after a short time in service (when 274) ? Or they built the last two in Liege ?

Agusta A109BA Hirundo equipped 17 Squadron "Griffon" of the Wing Heli will| receive some 5 Gazelle helicopters and one Puma in a squadron exchange| organised at Bierset airbase between September 10th and 14th. In that same| week an internal Wing Heli Sqn Challenge will be organised comparable to the former annual Light Aviation Challenge organised at Vogelsang.
