I don't think you will ever get a two engine ferry permit for such a reason.

But the requests I was talking about were made just after the take off incidents in the summer of 2005. To get the aircraft out of Amsterdam and to do the engine change in Lisbon. Since then two engines have been changed on the aircraft, but the authorities still keep a close eye on them.

Thus assuming the center tank is leaking due to corrosion? I am not a mechanic, but running on two engines you require more power of them and they would consume more fuel then a "normal" flight?!

Flying this plane should be easy on 2 engines with out passengers or payload.IF the plane is fully loaded yes then I would also think it will use more fuel flying on 2 engines.
Butt a empty plane flying on 2 engines would save much fuel.

Don't get confused! The two-engined option Streep was discussing was discussed immediately after the incidents which grounded this bird in 2005. Streep already pointed that out. The corrosion problems and the fuel leak only came up relatively recent, when the plane was being readied for a standard, 3-engined departure. There is no relation between the two issues!

is there a specific reason that our authorities do not provide a temp license for a two engine ferry flight? is this a specific policy or only for the cs-tmr?

I know the subject is long.. but just scroll back to my last message re TMR.
According to Luzair the auth grounded the aircraft ufn due to corrosion on the belly... This will be fixed shortl and the aircraft will than be inpected again. Pending on the result Luzair will plan the departure to VCV.

I've seen and read your msg, but what I also read in another post is they were looking to get a permit to fly with two engines, therefore my question. thanks anyway.

TMR was moved from its old spot again today back to M position. Engineers were active... so progress again... Looks like the story the Luzair maintenance manager told me was correct..

yesterdag they did high power engine runs due to engine vibration problems.

They did three high power runs. It sounds great to hear those RB211 engines at high power.

after the testruns nothing is changed. Didn't see any work in progress. now news at this moment
