The Hercules pictures Topic
Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

Peter Terlouw, can you tell me more about the red/white nose Flipper Herc. It looks a bit like the Fokker F27 Flipper, in use in the 60's when the F-104's where build at Fokker Schiphol. They used it for testing the F-104 systems. I was working than as ,,vliegtuigelectricien,, and made some panels and cable systems
(met die ellendige glasvezel mantel) for de F-104. After that we made the mid-wing piece of the Brequet-Atlantique.
By the way, does anybody know what happened with that F-27 Flipper and are there any pictures ?

ps. to my opinion it's a very bad photoshoped something (i don't know what to call it)
did not made this myself.
they will raise it until it is like the C-130 in the background, andd from that moment onwards it is a full grown C-130, and it will enter active duty for the USAf
where was the USnavy C-130 taken stephan?
I do like the pictures of the C-130's here!
My favorite plane!
Does anyone have some nice african C-130's?
nice pic's anyway!
SOS Birds
Just my 2 cents...sorry about the poor quality (bad slide scanner).
MC-130H from the 7th SOS at RAF Mildenhall during a base visit in 2005.
And here the other species based at RAF Mildenhal, the MC-130P of the 67th SOS.

This is the Royal Air Force Hercules W.2 of the RAE Farnborough and it was used for Weather Research. They put a lot of measurement instruments in the long boom at the nose and the original radar went on top of the cockpit.Peter Terlouw, can you tell me more about the red/white nose Flipper Herc. Let me try and get this topic back to life with a Chilean Air Force overview.
All photos from the days around FIDAE early April 2008.
996 C-130H and 998 C-130B both noted active at Santiago - Arturo Merino Benitez
995 C-130H was undergoing some sort of service at Santiago - Arturo Merino Benitez (seems like the missing engine makes quite a difference in weight balance)
Remains of 997 C-130B is parked at Santiago - Los Cerrillos
Just for completness remains of 994 C-130B at Santiago - Arturo Merino Benitez (was a bit hot at the time I took this photo)
All the best, Michael
