Hi Tiger,

I think there will be no problem as long as you don't park you're car in the dirt road.

Something else now: Security at Geilenkirchen.

At http://www.e3a.nato.int/25th_Anniversar ... sitors.htm you 'll find all information about base access and security. I've e-mailed them to be sure that taking pictures at the airbase is allowed.
Here is their answer.

Concerning the photo equipment and associated bags/cases security checks

Last year i went to the Spangdahlem open house and the rules where the same... But! everybody had a bag with him and there were no problems at all. Everyone was thouroughly checked at the gate and if found clean you could enter the base with your bag. (this doesn't say that it will be exact the same at Geilenkirchen but just to give an indication).

greets Brian

That’s not completely true…… I was also @ Spang last year (quit early in the morning). They where very strict, a lot of folks was sent back to their cars with their big bags.
Later on the day indeed there were people with all kind of bags. So I guess if you wait till later in the day they will be tired of sending people back to their cars.
I will be there early in the morning and I won’t take the risk

Also at Spang, sharp objects were prohibited -in the morning, at least. So if anyone still has the Scramble-letteropener in his photobag from some (Dutch) Open Day  : that was a definite "Nono" at Spang...

Geilenkirchen arrivals

Post by Humphrey Redskin »

Hi,

Spoke to the guys organizing this event. Asked them about the arrival dates of the planes participating. They told me that almost everything is expected to arrive on friday (including the B-52). The Red Bull stuff however is expected for thursday (DC-6, F-4U, B-25). The DC-6 is expected to make a local flight on thursday as well.

Regards,

Humphrey
