I hate to tell you, but it was neither a real WW1 fighter nor a Bristol Fighter: it was a French ultralight that was built to look like an SE.5A aircraft of WW1. If you're still interested in the aircraft after reading the above, its registration was "08-FA", which was written under the wings. (In France, ultralights are registered in the "departement" or province where their owner lives, followed by 1, 2 or 3 individual letters. In this case, that is departement 08, which is the departement "Ardennes")De Verrekieker wrote:Does anyone know the serial about the WW1 Bristol Fighter? in the shelter near the entrance?

while on the subject of A109's for Benin:
according to BAHA.be the A109 H-32 that was in the hangar is one of the five A109's that will be sold to Benin. It was receiving its last maintenance before transfer to the Benin AF. It was very difficult to get a good shot of it (I didn't even try ), but, probably, it was one of the last times this helo could be seen in Belgium
And as for the Mi26: would the scrap-heap be a likely solution? AFAIK the helo has been at Bierset for at least 5 years (if not much longer) without its engines having been operated. The only thing they seem to do with it is move it around every now and then...
