In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

As promised. By far not as exciting as Robbert's grass hugger...
Gentlemen, throttle check please!

I remember the pilot stopped by our group to ask for photos like this one, his action even surprised himself a bit... 8)

He was'nt the only one that was surprised. If my memory serves me right there was a flying ban for one of the pilots after this event... although I thought a TF-104 jockey was involded.

Groeten,

Nob, the TF jockey was during the 1984 familyday with the Thunderbirds and mass takeoff from the 104. To entertain us while the formation of 18 104's was formed 2 TF's flew hard, low and close toward each other...

R.Snijders wrote:That was my first spottersday as well! They showed us some real low level flying that day. (it's real..)
I remember having seen a similar pass which seemed to go toward a bus with spotters waiting to be brought back to the Mariniersplein where our cars were parked. The bus was visibly filled with people before the pass, nobody could be seen afterwards, as all had ducked for cover. Beautiful!
The one-o-four actually had to climb slightly in order to avoid the bus!

(who will be diving into his archives shortly to find shots from those wonderful days. What happened to PRO Major Bergink?)

Those are the ones I would have posted if I would have been a bit sooner.
Indeed 14 April 1982. Nice pics!

Uuhhh, NOT completly true! A year later, 17-6-1983, we had EA-6B 161243/AG-606 visiting Volkel due to a ECM course. Oké, it was not a full color one!

PS
The photo from Joris was made on the 18th, not 14th... That day we had only a Soesterberg F-15 visiting.

I would rather prefer 4 Belgian (T) F-104G's in these camo... :D 8)
By the way: also an Alconbury RF-4C could be noted at the 14th of april 1982.

Oooh, you talked about the SPOTTERSDAY on the 14th. Thought you ment the Prowler  Indeed 2 F's and TF's BAF a AR RF-4 and a uncoded SP F-4.

Than again,
Volkel
8-6-1982: 1 TF-104 BAF and 5 CF-104's
17-6-1982 4 BAF F-104's and 2 F-16B's visiting ans 3 F-4D Il ANG in the base attack.

Oké, 20-4-1983 (a year later) we had the verry last visiting of an BAF F-104. This day FX-52 and 78 said 'goodbye' to Volkel!
