The Dutch airliner delivery thread

This picture only shows how well integrated Air France Cargo and KLM Cargo are and that they make their decisions based on what is best for the company at this moment: replacing an older plane with a new more efficient one, i.s.o. expanding the fleet while they don't need the capacity and keeping a less efficient plane.
KLM ordered several 777s, 737s and A330s over the last 12 months and will be receiving a 777 in its own colours very soon. This shows that the AirFrance KLM group is very commited to the KLM brand and its Amsterdam hub. Thinking that they are going to destroy valuable and expensive assets (the KLM brand, it's routes, it's schiphol hub etc) for which they paid a lot of money, and which are performing good makes no sense at all.

Lets hope so.....mr. V wrote:Thinking that they are going to destroy valuable and expensive assets (the KLM brand, it's routes, it's schiphol hub etc) for which they paid a lot of money, and which are performing good makes no sense at all.
On the other hand I wouldn't mind seeïng some KL aircraft in AF colors and vise-versa. That would make a bigger statement IMHO.
In that perspective, i wouldn't mind if CKD would keep it's AFR livery after lease-end..... Just as long as 'they' keep it low in aircraft numbers...
Reminds me a bit how NWA used to fly the hybrid DC-10 some years ago.

That's not an argument, nor does it explain anything. It is just some wild statement which is somehow stuck in your mind, based on nothing but misunderstanding of business.Quote:
En zo zullen nog vele KLM vliegtuigen volgen.
Would you be so kind to explain your statement a little bit more elaborate then this and perhaps support it with some arguments.
En zo zullen nog vele KLM vliegtuigen volgen.
Again give some arguments or facts to support your statement. KLM is not going under because of Air France. Whether you like it or not, KLM is performing much better thanks to the co-operation with Air France. Check loadfactors, profit numbers, recent airplane orders etc. There is just no way that they would have achieved the same results without the co-operation with Air France and the syniergies created with this merger. This plane is not the first proof that KLM is being messed up by Air France, it is proof that they are making wise business decisions which will be benificial for the future of the company, it's employees and it's stockholders.KLM is inderdaad ten onder gegaan aan dat gare AFR
Please, if you have any facts or other arguments which proof you point, share them with us! Because I would really like to know as much as you seem to know about why Air France would invest a lot of money in a merger with KLM, then together with KLM enjoy the synergies and other positive things this merger has resulted to, after that expand KLM, in order to completly destroy it afterwards. Bet their shareholders will like that policy.
To get back on topic:
Does anybody already know the name of the new KLM 777 which is due for delivery soon?

The Sterling planes could well be painted in Eindhoven, early this year

Fokker 100 PH-OFP
At Woensdrecht is an ex-T.A.M. Fokker 100 about to be delivered to K.L.C. in a view days. It's the PH-OFP, new painted and rebuilt to K.L.C.-standards.
