Long fought it,
But with the lesser expierence with my tamron 100/300 last year even I will have to make the switch from analoog/wet film to the digital area.
I have let my eye fall on a Nikkon D70 with two sigma lenses and now am I wondering: got used to an nikkon F50 for ten years and liked what I got in those ten years.
What do I have to expect from the D70 with those Sigma lenses for the hobby we all share: photographing planes in less static circumstances?
Any help?
Greetings,
Stafsels

Hi,
The D70 is a very good camera in my opinion. I own one next to my newer D200, and still love the quality of the images. For the same image quality you can buy a cheeper D50, or spend a little more and buy a D80 with 10.2 MP. But anyway, a D70 is worth the money. And about the Sigma: They are quite good but a little slower and noisier than the original Nikkors. If you are really going for quality, then you should consider Nikkor lenses, new or used. Especially the 80-200mm F2.8D is a cracker and can be found for about E 425.- for a used one.

Arjen,

So with a little from you all:
It will become an D80 (thanks for the tip!) with for starters an 18-200 mm Sigma lens. THe 70-300 will come later as soon as budget has restocked
Any remarks forthe buy tomorrow?
Greetings,
Henk

Oeps almost forget:
Did consider the Sony 100 and the Nikkon D40 but have come to the conclusion after advice from many that the quality for these two systems won't live up when you are already used to the Nikkon F50 100/300 possiblities.
The fact that now an whole air event can be taken with just one lens without the need for much changing lensen = dust was an important one!
