How certain is F5EM 4871? Haven't seen it myself at Natal, but it seems to be preserved in Sao Paulo (last noted November 5th 2024).

Log was done off the back of my camera and there’s been little input from the tons of spotters that were there so I’m guessing misread for 4871.
That makes 11 confirmed F-5 serials but I think there were at least 12 or 13 or more. From day 2 there were 3 or 4 in the maintenance hangar depending on the day and at least 10 in the far shelters.

Thanks Jonathan.
Thats funny. I said to the guys I was with that there was a C-17 but none of them saw it so I put it down to heatstroke on my part!

At this point I have deleted a lot of photos but this is what I can verify at this point re F-5s:

1/14GAv 5 stars on tail and badge on intake (not always on both sides of aircraft)- 4820, 4834, 4841, 4846, 4861, 4867, 4807
n/m - 4864
yellow lines on tail - 4851, 4857, 4876, 4812 - presumably 1GAvCa?
not confirmed - 4854, 4871

This is in line with my notes and photos. I did not see 4854 nor 4871. Pretty sure these are incorrect.

There must have been one more C-95 in the storage area and additionally two more stored A-29B were identified by others: 5905, 5962.
5905 & 5962 were outside behind this hangar. Both no engine and both with a red cover over the canopy.
Further inside this hangar was A-29B 5955. You had to look carefully, it was close to the C-98 2706

Outside
A-29B 5916 5941 5957
H-50
C-95AM 2285 BANT badge 229(1)? And 2299
C-95BM 230(1)
C-208 2722
Plus something smaller with a blue tail, possibly AT-26 4601
I did not read 5916, but am missing one A-29B in this lot.
Was it parked behind 5941 and close to the blue AT-26?

Serial provided by Peter Nelson. Should be the one in front of the blue AT-26 and behind 5941.

Hi Araf/all

Great set of logs, thanks Ian for kicking this off.

We were lucky enough to have a tour at SBYS on 12-Nov and photographed 5929 inside the Fumaca hangar on jacks with wings and cockpit lid removed, no props and under heavy maintenance in camo cols with a Fumaca badge. We were told its likely to be repainted and enter service with Fumaca once the maintenance was complete.

I'd respectfully suggest 5929 probably wasn't at SBNT the week earlier.

When there 04/05/06-Nov, I didnt log/photo 5928, 5953, 5960 either so cant help with those I'm afraid.

I'm interested to know if anyone managed to get a firm confirmation for the AT-26 with a blue tail reported as 4601, I've not been able to find any photos online of that one.

Must get the SBYS log ready for posting......

Thanks for this.

For the AT-26 4601, just type 'AT-26 4601' in Google and you will get a couple of hits.
This is one of them and you will see a picture from the other side of the aircraft, but the markings are the same and also visible one one of my pictures of the aircraft at Natal.
