The stored F-35s have been subjected to a coconization process and the return to flight conditions has its own timing.

This process requires a longer time while a "recent" aircraft, if all goes well, can be accepted and delivered in 20/30 days from the first flight.

There was a report not long ago that the 13 Lakenheath TR-3 interim new builds awaiting delivery would no longer be delivered to LN and they would receive instead 13 combat capable older TR-2 jets from existing units as TR-3 interim spec can only be used for training at the moment. Probably why AF-405 has gone to Nellis?
