Hi Rob,
Great log, we only managed a look from outside, which proved to be a challenge. Did find some high ground with a good view inside.
Did you see the A7 cockpit near the Canberra with sharks mouth?

Regards

Most of them have plastic wrapped on them, but this is ripped on all aircraft.
So aircraft are all visible.

Yep, saw that one... it had 70-390 on the cockpit.
But as far as I could find out, this doesn't match any real serial.
It more looked like a sim.

But if anyone has more info, this is welcome.

Hi,

Nice log, but can you please give the definition of 'broken up', do you mean that all the aircraft have been scrapped ?

Looking forward to your reply.

Kind regards,

Laurent

With this in mean.... the aircraft are not in one piece. Fuselages are parked next to each other. Wings are stored all together. Sometimes the tail is missing and stored with other tails. Most of them are complete, but not in one piece.

I just had a better look at the photo I took.
The data block under the cockpit says:

U.S.AIR FORCE A-7D
AF SERIAL NO. 7C-390

The nose wheel door also shows "390"

According to Joe Baugher's serial site, this would most likely make it 75-0390. This was l/n in a scrapyard at Davis Monthan in 2000. In which case it may well be a sim, but made of "the real thing"...

It was an ex US Navy A-7 with code 210 when still at its old location in Greece. Later it was repainted and marked 390.
