Still it feels like a poor edition. Not a lot of USAF. Could this be because of Air Defender?

Yes this edition is poor compared to previous years. But… in recent years we’ve been really spoiled with many great participants in large numbers. So one year with less exciting participants, can happen.
And with all the ==censored== going on in the east, Air Defender earlier this year, it’s not hard to accept a less inspiring Frisian Flag this year.

There you have a point. I thought for a moment that the exercise was becoming less popular among foreign air forces. We just have to wait and see what happens next year

Unpopular thought: the actual participants probably couldn't care less if we percieve this years edition as "poor". It's valuable training any which way you put it..

Valuable yes, but not as valuable as alternative exercises that attract more participants in both numbers and diversity. We'll see how it goes, let's just hope it will be better next year and won't go down like the TLP...

Sorry to spoil your day but no Frisian Flag next year due to other commitments (Red Flag, WIC etc): https://archive.ph/2023.10.02-152052/ht ... 73017.html
