Villacoublay (LFPV/VIY) 2023 MIL

Post by Sjoerd »

This airfield had been rather busy today with lots of movements on ADSB during the day. We spent a couple of hours in the approach between 1800-2000.

17401 Falcon50 Esq504 AFP47 arr.
(068/F-RAFA) Falcon7X ET00.060 CTM0007 arr.
099/YP EMB.121AA EAT00.319 FNY50D1 arr.
101 Falcon10MER 57S FNY arr./dep.
1x AS.332L1/EC.225 EH03.067/GAM00.056 arr. 1700lt (see note below*)

The following was noted on adsb and not read and seem to operate from here;
F-RAXG TBM-700A CTM1293 (seen from Toussus)
0010 A.400M Carvex45
2377/(FU) AS.332L1 MED23 arr. 1600
5140 C-130H-30 Cujas40 dep.
072 EMB.121AA dep.
087 EMB.121AA dep./arr.
103 TBM-700A CTM0033 arr.
146 TBM.700A CTM1295 arr.
156 TBM-700B FMY8048 arr.
JBI EC.145 GEND11 arr./dep. (seen from Toussus)

* airco box lh side / see also Toussus le Noble topic). Not FY or SY. Possibly FU again? FZ and SZ have no recent flight (24hr) history per adsb.

Any help with the Cougar is much appreciated!

Hey Adrian, thanks for your log from Villacoublay! Can you pls recheck Alpha Jet #6? Someone else has it noted as (E169)/F-UHRX/6. I hope you are right though. :mrgreen:

During the Paris airshow (3 weeks ago), I read E169 F-UHRX with code 6 !!
So I still think E169 should be correct. The difference between an Y and X is not that big.

For example, look at this picture: https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/10382339

This is a screenshot of my image from F-UHRY at Villacoublay. E169 and E170 are both currently listed as active with the PdF!

Take a look at the nose door where 169 or 170 is.

As you might know the nose door opens to the left hand side, so that is unachievable from this angle...

The thing with these civil regs and mil regs is they always match and don't change. E.g., F-UHRX belongs to E169 and F-UHRY belongs to E170. However, the codes (1,2,3 etc.) can change even during a show weekend at the same location the show is held. So a code read a month ago doesn't provide much certainty.

@Adraf,
That indeed looks like an Y at the end!

Strictly these aren't civilian registrations, but I know what you mean. For several years now all French Air Force and Army aircraft have fixed 'registrations' of this format, which don't change, as you say. They are seen on Alpha Jets, A400s, A330s and the like and, for things like Rafales, the last two are the last two of the code so, for example, 125/30-GD, if it moves to another unit, will now keep the GD part.
