Re: Tag der Bundeswehr 17 June 2023 Buckeburg Kaufbeuren
Hi all,
After doing a few days in Germany for Air Defender 2023, we visited the spotter day at Bückeburg that was held two days before the Tag der Bundeswehr 2023. Although in the confirmation it was said thy fully understood our wishes regarding photography and sun, it turned out we still had to stay on the north side of the runway. And that meant backlight of course. So photographic opportunities were not the best, to put it mildly. Luckily I managed to find escorts to most hangars, so all instructional and also preserved aircraft could be ticked off. And the PR lady really did her best, and escorted a few small groups to the flightline with the Tigers. And we were lucky we could join one of those groups. So all in all the score was very nice luckily. Here is a quick log of what was seen, including a few remarks.

As you can see, there is a problem with the instructional P.149s, as two of them carry serial 90+57. If somebody can check their c/n’s during the open day Saturday (or knows more about them) I would love to hear the result.
There was some shuffling of aircraft around during the day. At the begiing of the day 79+39 was in Halle 10, but early afternoon that was pulled out and replaced by 79+36.
Hopefully somebody can confirm the missing markings of the helicopters in Halle 4 during the openday.
The two Piper 42 haven’t been reported before AFAIK. Based on internet data, both arrived here last July, coming from Kassel.
Well, this was written in haste, so excuse any typos, but I hope this helps some of you. And please post additions or corrections.
Thanks to Robert for the company and driving!

Great list! Additions: the EC-135 flying as a pair and parked near the tower were 82+55 and 82+56. In the afternoon two US C-130H were crossing the field inbound Wunstorf: 90-1798 (MO ANG) and 91-1237 (DE ANG). From the other side of the field in the morning at least 1 Tiger and 1 NH90 were seen inside Halle 7, but not noted due to obstructed view.

Do27 D-EDFL/(5684) arrived mid day.
The Piaggio 9057 (ex Bentlage) in the Lehrwerkstatt looked like the real deal.
It has 9057 on instr panel and sticker from Rheine Bentlage 1984/2017.
Halle 8 was off limits today.
