Westerland/Sylt 2023
Obviously C-2A 162172 of VRC-40 „Rawhides“ made an emergency landing (ADSB showing squawk 7700) on 20.5. at 17.13h. It took off at Prestwick and presumably was on a s/w course presumably to Hamburg.
Re: Westerland/Sylt 2023
It attempted to land on the carrier, but failed and had to divert to a shorebase due to low on fuel. Alternates discussed were Wittmund, Hamburg, Nordholz, Hohn, but in the end Sylt was closest.

That's quite the visitor for Sylt then! Although, they have a 2km concrete runway and jet fuel so no problem there.

The main runway is even 2.120m and they have limited airliner traffic, Condor, Eurowings etc.

Looking- at ads-b, it departed again around 20.00 local. According to the same ads-b, it was BuNo 162172.
