Yes, I tried VPN.
I got some sort of access which I did not without VPN...

With this VPN service you can reach the website, fill in the form and submit.... only to get a Captcha error. So yes, geo-fencing, but also just a stupid error.
Anyone from Italy who can check if the captcha actually works in Italy?

Also, anyone with contact details, there is nothing on the site, of course... (except for when you want to complain about your data being stored).

Update: today it worked again! You do need a VPN (the above mentioned worked very easily) and right now the captcha did not give an issue. So if you still need a reservation, I suggest you start trying again and keep trying until it works.

According to an unofficial post on a F-104 Facebook fan group, the TF-104G N991SF "Black Beauty" is currently en route towards Italy on board an Italian Air Force C-130. The post says it will be re-assembled in Grosseto airbase (former F-104 base). It is unclear whether it will be re-based in Pratica di Mare for the airshow.

However, still no official confirmation from the Italian Air Force.

This looks like an automatic reply. In the e-mail they refer to the authorisation process, I cannot find it on the pages (using Italian VPN). Anyone any mor info?

Update 07June23: just received a confirmation to attend the spottersday:
You will be allowed to enter Pratica di Mare Air Base (Rome), at the entrance located in Via Arno, on your own vehicle, from 9 a.m.
Please follow the attached circulation instructions while inside the air base.
The air show will end at 7 p.m.
While inside the air base, it will be possible to buy food and drinks at refreshment stalls set up for the occasion.
We suggest you wear a hat and a high-visibility jacket during the air show.
Before starting activities, the staff will provide all necessary information and procedures which will have to be followed strictly.
