Air Mobility Command removing markings

Post by SBGrad »

AMC making it harder to figure out which aircraft is which-- they are taking off everything except for the US flag (required by ICAO regulations).

At the last Red Flag every KC-135 I saw was marked, wonder if I'll see any 'naked' jets at Red Flag 23-2...

I believe that one of the KC-135's last week at Spang didn't carry a serial on it's tail, at least on the starboard side.

This is manageable.
Less so if it spreads to Air Combat Command…

Below (from my photographer) is how all the 22nd ARW Pegasii look now, at least they still (10th Feb) have the serials on the tail.
Equally worrying is that a 317th C-130J has just visited my local jetport and not "pinged" on either ADSB nor FR24 (thankfully not reqd!)

Photos changed to links because of board policy.
Edit: plus I made a new topic where we can discuss this, even without adding news/facts here  click.

Well, the AFRC KC-46's at Seymour Johnson carry only serialnumber and flag on tail. A pity they lost their beautiful tailmarking.

Also USAF ANG without mks seen

Post by GUINNESS_EHEH »

15apr23 - I am standing on Minneapolis MN and I see a C130H from the MN ANG without any markings. Except the serial very very small (61006) in the tail, smaller than the SOS Hercs and also almost in the same color. No tail mks, no ANG mks in the tail or fuselage, no last 3 digits serial on the nose not even an American flag.
Cheers,

Looks like AETC is also involved.
Today 2 x KC-135R were seen at Altus AFB without serials

This storie also started at ALTUS AFB with AETC with severel planes without serials. So much more than only AMC.
During a recent trip we also saw at least 2 x C-130J-30 at Dyess without any markings.
