AMI twitter feed mentions 4 Russian a/c chased away by AMI EF2000 when they entered Polish and Swedish FIR from Kaliningrad. Others also mention Danish F-16 assisted, but no info on Danish RDAF of MoD twitter channels or Swedish Forsvarmarkten regarding this incident

There is debate on Twitter on whether the Russian planes entered Swedish/Polish airspace or not. My impression is, people mix up territorial waters (max. 12 mi. from shore) with airspace. The point where the Kaliningrad, Warsaw and Sweden defined airspace regions (FIRs) meet is nearly 50 mi. from the nearest Swedish coast and a bit over 70 mi. from that of Poland. One can therefore easily be within each country's airspace without being even near territorial waters.

Apart from that, it probably remains to be seen if the Eufis indeed 'chased away' the Russians, reacted as hoped for to observe their reaction or made the Russians aware of a navigation glitch. Either way, a noteworthy occurence of course.

Same happens in Holland or Germany when Russia “enters” their airspace. But in fact they only enter the area of responsibility, which is a different thing

The Swedish governmnt denied directly that the four aircraft not crossed the Swedish border.

But still have four Russian aircraft been flying around outside the border.

I am intersted of the type of the aircraft.
