Army announces upcoming 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, unit deployment

By U.S. Army Public AffairsOctober 8, 2021

WASHINGTON — The Department of the Army announced today the 1st Cavalry Division Combat Aviation Brigade’s upcoming fall rotational deployment to Europe.

The 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, which is stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, will replace the 1st Infantry Division Combat Aviation Brigade to support the United States’ commitment to Atlantic Resolve.

“The 1st Air Cavalry Brigade is one of the most storied and combat-tested brigades in our Army,” said Maj. Gen. John B. Richardson, commanding general of the 1st Cavalry Division. “The 1st Cavalry Division stands resolute in its 100th year to provide combat ready forces capable of conducting Unified Land Operations anywhere in the world.”

“Training to fight and win with our European partners builds confidence across the globe in NATO’s combined lethality.” said Col. Reggie Harper, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade commander. “Our team is comprised of the finest combat aviators on the planet. We are trained and ready for this rotation.”

1st CAB has started to move the H60's out of Romania.

20-11: 3-ship R20221 routing Constanta - Burgas - Greece 20221/20412/20413.
20-11: 3-ship R20505 routing Constanta - Burgas - Greece 20505/20303/20309.
21-11: 2-ship R20223 routing Constanta - Burgas - Greece 20223/20420.

Serials as on ATC and partially on FR24 , this causes a problem as both 20413 and 20309 are not listed as being in Europe in GIPS post on page 1 of this thread. 20309 is on FR24 using Hex AE4847, that belongs to 20118, but that one already routed earlier this week, see above.

So this means that 10-20309 is our 3rd missing Greece HH-60M
And the 11-20413 is now confirmed as 26th and final Greece UH-60M

According to ADSB the first formations of 1st CAB heading to NL have left Illesheim this morning.
Visible on ADSB are 08-20160 Blackhawk and 14-08168 CH-47 Chinook, each leading a formation most probably.
Edit:
1PM: 08-20164 airborne at Illesheim heading west.
First formation is making a fuel stop at Spangdahlem AB.
2PM:
2nd formation with Chinook as lead approaching Nörvenich for fuel stop.

The ship Endurance, in the english channel near Southampton now, arriving 25-11-22 at 06:00 hours. When can we expect the first flights to Woensdrecht?

Anyone got a clue as to when the 1 CAB helicopters will be picked up from Vlissingen? And are all parked inside, or will these be placed outside once they are prepped (rotors folded/removed)?

Isn't the Endurance still there? I would expect them to board when they are ready to do so (so not all at once).

Endurance is anchored at sea. Probably a lot cheaper than waiting at the dock until everything is ready to be loaded

I was told the boat would be out for 10 or 11 days and then return.
Most likely all helicopters will stay inside, like with the arrivals, there's plenty of space.
