Existing designations (AS355, EC120, etc.) will not be changed. Only new types will gain the new nomenclature (AHxxx, or whatever it may be).
The first new designation will presumably be for the X4.

Re: Info: Eurocopter H-72 Lakota c/n list
72049 is 9204; 72050 is 9207.
72172 confirmed as 9422.
9256 and 9272 are, of course, USNTPS aircraft (along with 9269, 9270 & 9290).
Rotorspot (e.g. http://www.rotorspot.nl/n-6.htm) can help fill in some of the gaps.

Re: First flight EC175
Pete - Happy to assist. topgun1984 - The Fenestron has clear advantages vs. conventional tail rotors for small and intermediate sized helicopters, but it encounters a sizing issue once you get above a certain weight class (you may have seen the photo of Puma SA330Z with the oversized Fenestron). The...

Re: First flight EC175
The exhaust design is dictated by the PT6, which is a hot-drive turboshaft. Since the engine has to be installed 'backwards' in order to keep the output drive need the main gearbox (a 'problem' common to the PT6 turboprop), the engine's exhaust is also farther forward than on helicopters powered by ...

Can't go into detail, but 'covers' will not be required for the floats & rafts. As you mention, on the Super Puma family these devices are enclosed in the sponson, but a different design approach is used on the EC175. Trust me, they're there!

Re: First flight EC175
That's a relevant question. It's actually a safety design feature, related to the fact that the key target markets for the EC175 are primarily utility (offshore, SAR, etc.). As with the AS332/EC225, this approach trades off the aesthetics of a fully retractable gear (and perhaps a knot or two) in fa...

No connection with the NH90 (the EC175 is strictly a civil app).topgun1984 wrote:Although it's the Little passenger version of (i suppose) a NH-90. it realy has some design flaws.
Sorry to hear you think it has "some design flaws." Let me know what your concerns are and I'll see if I can put you at ease.
