A YORKNIGHT (or a YorkAfternoon)
Hi All, After spending three days in the lakes waiting for the Swiss to treat me to a flypast, I decided with two days to go that I might need to take the Mountain to the Swiss, as they seemed reluctant to come anywhere near me whilst climbing various points around Thirlmere. So passport in hand I m...

Exercise Pitch Black, Mindil Beach Thursday. Part 1.
Hello again all, After the first three days of the exercise it was time for the participants flypast, i had been looking to this the most and one of the reasons I chose the first week. For those that are not familiar with proceedings (like me a week before I went) the Thursday of the first week, the...

Re: Exercise Pitch Black, Darwin, Australia, Day 2.
Great shots and a nice spot! Out of curiousity, how many mm's did you use to shoot these? I shoot with a 200-600 Sony Lens, most of these are at the top end, where it does soften a little, one of the problems faced was the displaced threshold, resulting in the aircraft being higher than normal. Hop...

Exercise Pitch Black, Darwin, Australia, Day 2.
After the initial fact finding day 1, I was ready for day 2 and had researched as much as I could as to where to shoot from. I had been given some information regarding one place that departures could be shot from, so off I toddled, as it turned out , getting there at 7, just before light and the sp...

Quick hop over to Australia.
Back in late June I was facing the prospect of turning 50, and despite my other half pestering me for over 12 months regarding if i wanted to go spotting somewhere for hitting the half century, here i was, sat with nothing booked. I had trawled the boards, and it was looking like RIAT or a long week...
