I am lucky enough to be on Gran Canaria, but only the last week of January.
Does anybody have more info about :
- 1 or 2 missions a day
- timing of the missions (time of the take-offs) and average length of the mission
- best place to spot outside the base

I don't think there is something wrong with picture 8 : the camera is focused on ST27 and not on ST04 which is in front of ST27. Granted, I always take low shutterspeed helicopter pictures with my EF 400 mm 5.6 without IS and it is damn difficult and sometimes very frustrating work. And that lens do...

I have exactely the same pictures of his high speed pass taken on the friday of the Leeuwarden airshow. (only the weather was better )

The way I read the BBC article, is that the organisers are thinking of re-locating the airshow away from Fairford only in the event of unforeseen events. I.e. like for this year's event the venue would still have been Fairford, but the organisers would have decided on thursday (for example) to move ...
