'Secret' helicopter flights in the Washington DC area
So this has been in the news this week. https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/29101/whats-the-deal-with-army-helicopters-flying-a-secret-new-mission-over-the-capital I haven't noticed activity more than usual. Tonight I'm hearing PAT21 and PAT24 flights of three H-60s. Quick trip to the north and ba...

Re: (Unknown) Mode-s / Hexcodes
Today and currently I'm watching AE5201 doing loops over the Ft Bragg ranges to the west of Pope AFB. Altitude has been 7600ft +/- some. Speeds have been low, probably average about 90kts. I'm thinking it's a UAV of some sort, likely an MQ-1C since it is most likely an Army asset. They've been opera...

Re: The 'black' USAF C-32Bs
Another thing I noticed years back, Around 0400Z 12/17/2014 I was tracking AE0438 98-6006 ANNIE35 at FL290. No ADS-B or squawk. It was late here so not much traffic. I lost it for a few minutes and then started receiving N610G A7EF54 on ADS-B squawking 5677, at FL290. Same general location, heading ...

Re: The 'black' USAF C-32Bs
Given the fact that these machines belong to the 150 Special Operations Squadron, would speculate that they brought in some ConUS based special units/forces. That's exactly what they do. That's why there are frequent stops at Oceana NAS (SEALS) and Pope AFB/Ft Bragg (SF) followed by trips where the...

Re: Blackhawk down in Maryland
And aircraft don't always remain with a unit permanently.
A better video shows 303 on the tail. 90-26303? At least the DB says no longer with the unit. So probably with the 12th now.

Blackhawk down in Maryland
Looks like it's probably 98-26803. 803 is seen on the tail. http://www.wusa9.com/news/local/maryland/reports-helicopter-crashes-in-leonardtown-md/431899368 http://www.mdwhome.mdw.army.mil/docs/default-source/current-news-releases/17-15-news-release---one-dead-two-injured-in-black-hawk-training-missi...

Re: The 'black' USAF C-32Bs
That's funny. Just now 02-5001 and 00-9001 showed up in my area.
02-5001 heading SW over the West Virginia eastern panhandle at FL380
9001 is somewhere else heading 350 and descending from FL300.

02-4452 departed KADW a few minutes ago. It's been in and out of there a few times today. Also logged 9001 today but I lost that log data when I shut down my Radarbox, so I don't knows any details.

Re: US Army 10-0737 (AE4C63)
It seems there is another relatively local-to-me company involved in the conversion of Beechs into military versions. They've been doing it for awhile apparently. I've found photos on the various sites of civilian regd planes with Army color and markings like http://jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=61...
