Your Hercs are the following. C-130J 08-5679 and 08-5715 both of 317th AG/40th AS. They arrived in August in support of AFRICOM detachment. Another 3 passed through on Thursday very early morning which continued on Friday to the east. This morning another four arrived. I heard them pass very early this morning. Unfortunately cloudy and still to dark. I noticed them depart yesterday at St. Johns similar timing as the 3 that passed through last Thursday. The ones of this morning by means of SBS:

C-130J-30 08-3176 317th AG RCH111
C-130J-30 08-5685 317th AG RCH802
C-130J-30 08-5686 317th AG RCH930
C-130J-30 08-5691 317th AG RCH936

http://www.dyess.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123360185 has the article with the information on the first two that are there already for a number of weeks. I initially thought the four that arrived today will continue tomorrow, but you say the 3176 was at the 37th AS ramp. That's where the others for the AFRICOM detachment are also parked always (most righthand parking positions when looking from the Kindsbach Hill). I wouldn't be surprised if these would also stay in support of AFRICOM.

Another 317AG bird is underway from St. Johns, so might be another one for tomorrow. It's the 08-3179 c/s RCH933.
Also earlier departing St. Johns were two AFRC Hercs: 87-9284 as RCH927 and 88-4404 as RCH926. Could be these pop-in also, but last couple of days some other also didn't stop at Ramstein but made a fuelstop at Mildenhall to continue on to the east.

BR,
Jeroen

Thanks Jeroen for the info, much appreciate!
I noticed 08-5715 left early in the morning (mode-s log) so this one should be swapped by 08-3176 I suppose....

Hello Maurits,

I don't think so. 08-5715 left with callsign LION460. And LION are callsigns used by the 37th AS. So it might be additional aircraft for the TDY. Could be the other two will return to the states. But on the other hand the ones of last Thursday transited to the east. We'll see, else it will be worth a visit in combination with other nice stuff in the area soon.

Hi Eric,

Thanks for the log, one other small correction: 04-4129 is from 437AW. It is from Charleston. I have photoproof of that one.

Thanks everyone for sharing all the info!!

Greetings,
Per

Some additional info regarding the GIA F-15A and C-27s:
F-15 is parked behind the hot cargo ramp close to a HAS nose in direction to the hot cargo ramp. If you spot it from the east side than you can see the twin tails/back side. Regarding the C-27s three can be spotted from the Bismarckturm, at the end of the taxiway in the 76AS shelter area only the tails are visible. To see them all walk from the crosspoint along the base fence- southwest side follow this, after some 400meters- turn left- when you get a small cornfield at righthand side- you can see through the trees all the four C27As ! Good hunt. .:-)
