Creil - MIL 2013

Post by ehusmann »

Seen Friday 22 June 2013, between 15h and 16h:
CN.235: 045/62-IB, 111/62-II, 114/62-IJ, 194/62-HB, 195/62-HC, 198/62-HF, 199/62-HG, 200/62-HH
Alpha Jet E: ../102-LI, ../102-NH, ../102-NO
Mirage 2000-5F: 52
TB.30: ../315-XH, ../315/ZM, ../315-ZN plus one in Cartouche colours

The Mirage is visible from the well known spot to read the CN.235s. The TB.30s are not visible, but all flew while we were there. The Alpha Jets came in around 15.30 and are parked on the ramp. Clearly visible from the fence. When we left they were all zipped up and looking like weekend visitors. Maybe interesting for those still travelling to Le Bourget this weekend....

E53 102-LI
E26 102-MD
E99 102-AH
Departed on Sunday evening around 18.30

TB-30 91 315-XH was visible when you walked to the QRA.
Does anybody have the serials of 2 other Mirage 200's which where in the shelters behind the 52 116-EH?

Wow, one out of three A Jet codes correct... -> fail!
Anyway, thanks for the serials, much appreciated.

according to other topics and websites, around 20 helicopters (mostly ALAT) and three bases CN.235s should be operating out of Creil next Sunday (14th of July) for the French National Holiday Flypast over Paris.
I am considering to position myself at Creil for this event, but I received - partly conflicting - information regarding the limited spotting conditions at Creil. The Scramble airfield guide book seems mostly pointing at spotting aircraft on the ramp, but what about flying on aircraft and about spotting conditions near the approaches. How far is the ramp from the fence line compared to more "common" transport bases like Eindhoven or Ramstein?
And do you think hanging around near the fence for spotting might be tolerated be local security forces?
The two previous reports in this topics seem to prove that some spotting is possible but not realy easy the there?
Any little help for putting together a more complete picture would be appreciated!

If it is a westerly wind you can go to spot number 1 in the Scramble Airfield guide and continue on the path towards the approach (so park your car at the top of the hill and continue that path by foot). The approach on that side is wide open and you should have no difficulty reading (or photographing) any landing aircraft. Helicopters might take different approaches though, I have no idea of how those might fly in and out.
With easterly wind you might give the aeroclub a try, although I think you are way too far from the approach there. The approach itself is wide open as well, though the road crossing it does not have any parking options. From the village nearby it will be quite a walk.

Thank you very much indeed, Erwin! Does not seem totally bad for spotting then.

No, in fact it is pretty good, also reading the CN.235s on the ramp is not that hard with a little bit of light. Planes parked further down the line are a bit far though.
The fact we didn't read the Alpha Jets a couple of weeks ago simply had to do with the fact we had just been kicked away from the fence. So when the Alpha Jets came in we weren't anywhere near the fence, nor the approach.

Hi Richard,

Just south of the 07 treshold there is a small road to the left in a small place Le Plessis. Here you can find a place to park and view aircraft landing on runway 07.

From scramble spot 3 you can indeed easily continue on the dirtroad towards the approach. From spot 3 the aircraft are still quite some distance away.
On the other hand if you continue the D565 southwards from spot 3 there is another small dirtroad going up the hill leading back to the approach.

Not very use full to go for the a/c of the parade to Evreux.
Nearly all had left, only the Germans were still there around noon.
For the benefit of Mr. Kite, there will be a show tonight on trampoline

helicopterts Noted 13 July around 10.00:

7x Tigre ALAT (one read as 2042?)
2x Tigre GArmy
5x SA.330 (including DBN and DBL and one with white stripes)
2x AS.332 (read as CGN and CGW)
7x Gazelle
1x NH90 ALAT
1x NH90 FN
1x AS.565 FN

At that time no more helicopters present (or visible from outside).

Yes we saw two NH90-TTH,s on the 13th
some of the Creil movements ended up in the wrong topic;
http://forum.scramble.nl/viewtopic.php?p=651041#p651041

so the 2nd NH90 should be the EAC

Leonard
