Turweston/Hinton/Oxford/Wycombe/Fairoaks - 2/9/12 / CIV

Hi,

After my visit to the LAA Rally at Sywell last year, I took a rather circuitous journey home which allowed to stop at a few airfields en route.

First stop was Turweston. Lots of spotters there, along with several Cirrus aircraft such as N100YY:-

Seneca G-BBLU was looking a little more 'used':-

Another interesting twin was N4173T:-

It was only a short drive to Hinton in the Hedges, where one of the first aircraft I saw was An-2 HA-ANG:-

The door suggests that G-SKYE is one several aircraft at the airfield used for parachuting:-

Despite the skanky weather, Dornier HA-HIB was busily taking parahte jumpers aloft:

My next stop was Kidlington, where among several biz jets and light aircraft, I spotted PC-12 N234RG over the hedge:-

By the time I had made it to Wycombe, the rain that had been threatened all day was falling, but I found G-DATG braving the elements:-

Final stop of the day was Fairoaks where I found G-PFCL:-

I had seen G-RATV leave Sywell - here it is safely back at base, bring an end to an excellent day with over 500 aircraft going into the book:-

I hope the photos are of interest - more can be found at http://www.flickr.com/photos/indiaecho/

Regards,

Neil
