Three days in the UK: HMS Ocean, Benson and Brize Norton

Post by Sven van Roij »

Last monday my brother and I drove to Londen to drop off some belongings and bring him back home. I used the opportunity to travel through southern Brittain to do some spotting, visiting the HMS Ocean docked at the Thames near Greenwich Park (London) due to the Games, RAF Benson and RAF Brize Norton.

Here are some shots, as always: all C&C is more than welcome!

13. Such a shame: I was to late to picture the t/o of this VC-10, during departure she turned away, overhead some tree branches :(

Nice pictures in 'the English summer'.

Where were nr's 9, 10 and 11 taken? Didn't know that spot?
I always say a boy can learn more at an airport than at any school.

Very nice, the Merlin looks great in no 4. But the Tristar disappearing in to cloud does it for me!

Took the shots at the 'Burford Road', a deadend street. Spot is indicated as 'H' over here: http://www.thunder-and-lightnings.co.uk ... norton.php Don't forget your stepladder, high crashgate fences are placed at this spot. Coordinates are +51° 44' 43.36", -1° 35' 15.18"

Sven
