This one is funny...
Because some members the gliding club use older (and beautifully restored!!) gliders which do not have a transponder, and agreement has been reached that upon request Transponder Free Zone will be established. This is only valid on weekdays and only for those gliders that do not have a tranponder!!
The above advisement seems to be ment for IFR traffic as the VFR-flightregime utilse see-and avoid.
Besides, for a safe flyin attitude point of view it is always good to avoid areas where active gliding traffic takes place, just for the sake of difference in flying velocity..
