If SQ buys 747-8s then they will be 747-812 as HV is also the customer code for ABC.Gerard wrote:AFAIK that's no longer done.sikkeman wrote:And how do they create the code for the customer?

But the British Airways Cargo (Global Supply Systems/Atlas Air) ones are delivered as -87UF's (7U being the Atlas Air customer code) and registred as such by the CAA...cHabu wrote:According to various threads on the web, customer codes are no longer being used, starting with the B747-8 (and als with the B717 afaik).

Not true... The customer codes are still in use! (e.g. B747-8R7F/8KZF/8R7F/8HTF/867F/830/87UF/867F --- B787-824/881/81B/860/837/824/8DZ ..... & more )cHabu wrote:According to various threads on the web, customer codes are no longer being used, starting with the B747-8 (and als with the B717 afaik).

Because you say so, or because you have actual proof ?RobertMB wrote:Not true... The customer codes are still in use! There are various photo's on the web, showing the 787 type as 787-8 on the serialplate.
Can we therefore assume it starts with the 787 ?

Op de FAA TCDS voor de B747 staan de volgende modelen van de B747-8F:cHabu wrote:Because you say so, or because you have actual proof ?RobertMB wrote:Not true... The customer codes are still in use! 747-867F
747-87UF
747-8R7F
