Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

Larnaca spotting sep 2011

Post by EC »

After suffering the wettest summer on record, I had a need for planes in the sun.
Searching the internet I found a very affordable ticket from Niederrhein to Larnaca with Ryanair.
(Ryanair call this airport Dusseldorf and it is actually the old RAF Lahrbruch)
Larnaca is not a very busy airport but it has visitors from middele east airlines that are still on my to do list.

Here is the catch from Friday afternoon sep 2nd

The guys that got me there in their office

2nd afternoon on the beach. The sun is in the wrong place in the morning. You could drive around the whole airport
to shoot in the morning but there are limited movements in the morning so I did not bother to get a hire car.
What I am posting are not only the highlights but also a fair proportion of the movements. You get 20 to 30 planes
between 13.00 and 18.30.Including Cyprus Aw, Aegean, Olympic, Austrian, Aeroflot, Swiss, LH, Emirates and Etihad

There were 3 Aerosvit flights this afternoon, the first 2 were the mostly white 737's, this one made up for that

Thanks for the replies guys

Final day on the beach, I'm heading home tomorrow. The end of a long weekend.
Today was Brits day, but I'll spare you the Thomsons and Thomas Cooks.

Yamal colors, lease fell through?

To show that it is literaly on the beach
