Negotiations with Finland are to commence within a few weeks concerning the taking over of two Mi-8s - Csaba Hende, the Hungarian Minister of Defence told legiero.blog.hu.
Additionally, some 10 bn HUF (approx. 36 m EUR) will be spent on the overhaul and modernisation of seven Hungarian Mi-17s; however, details are yet unknown.
Mr. Hende did not confute press information that the Ministry is currently investigating the possibility of purchasing used UH-1 helicopters.

Update: The two Mi-8s offered by Finland free of charge are expected to arrive to Hungary in April. Besides the two aircraft (withdrawn from service and replaced by NH-90s last year), the package offered within the Multi-national Helicopter Initiative also includes a large number of spare parts.
