Airmobile exercise Noord-Brabant 17-21 January 2011

According to Brabants Dagblad this week at Oirschot and Fort Crevecoeur:
DEN BOSCH - Eenheden van de luchtmobiele brigade (Rode Baretten) houden vanaf maandag tot vrijdag een oefening in Noord-Brabant. Ze benaderen 'aanvalsdoelen' in onder meer Den Bosch en Oirschot.

Dinsdag is er een zogenaamde 'fast rope'-actie op Fort Crèvecoeur. Militairen dalen onder dekking van Apaches uit transporthelikopters. Het is de bedoeling dat de luchtmobiele militairen het fort in bezit nemen en houden. Tijdens deze actie stuiten de militairen op vijandelijk vuur. Om het scenario zo realistisch mogelijk te laten lijken, wordt gewerkt met een oefenvijand. Apache gevechtshelikopters voeren dinsdag verkenningen uit en observeren de omgeving van het fort.
Unit involved is an airmobile infantry company.
