Hi guys,
Thanks for your kind comments! We're glad you enjoyed our small report.
Today we had a glorious day. Not only for the weather, but for the company and the aircraft too. We started of the day with a visit to Corris Corner. At this spot you will only be able to see the aircraft about five seconds before they pass you. So it's a hit and miss location, unless you set up some sort of early warning system with friends elsewhere in the loop. Phones rang quite a number of times, allowing us the take our positions for things to come. During the morning we had four Hawks and a nice old Hercules.
At about 13.00 hrs we decided to change position, as the light at Corris began to turn against us. So we decended to our car, drove a few miles to Cad West and got back up the hill. Just like last year it took us 24 minutes from the bottom to the top, without us having to hurry. We arribed there at 14.04 hrs.
The afternoon was amazing. Things started off with two Royal Navy Hawks with ground fear (e.g. almost in orbit). After that another Hawk made a perfect straight in run towards or position, followed by a half loop back out. What a great sight! Not much later a Tornado GR4 whizzed by, minutes later followed by a Quinetic Alpha Jet. After a short break two Typhoons made our day with a beautiful low pass. Wow ! At 17.30 hrs a new Hercules did a nice run by, while at 17.45 a single ship Harrier finished off the day.
What more can you ask for ?!
A small photographic impression can be seen below. Hopefully we will be able to post more stories and photos tomorrow.
Cheers,
Iwan, Eric & Pieter
