Om bemanningen van de transporthelikopters van de Koninklijke Luchtmacht goed te trainen voor de uitzending naar Afghanistan, wordt de vliegbasis Gilze-Rijen maandag 22 februari extra opengesteld tot 23.30 uur.
De trainingsvluchten bestaan uit schietoefeningen met boordwapens die op de transporthelikopters gemonteerd kunnen worden en het vliegen met nachtzichtapparatuur.
De schietoefeningen vinden plaats op schietrange de Vliehors op Vlieland en staan gepland voor maandag 22 februari. Daarna vliegen de helikopters terug naar vliegbasis Gilze-Rijen. De aankomst wordt om uiterlijk 23.30 uur verwacht.
