Earlier on last month I posted a preview of my trip down to England and i've finally got the pictures edited. So I will start with Waddington. Since I've not long been back I've just got round to editing my Waddington Air Show photos.
Decided to add a little bit of writing, was due to go on Saturday aswell but with news of the Vulcan not flying decided only Sunday so we drove down through Saturday night arriving at the fence - shattered - around 7.30AM and took advantage of being the only one there and grabbed the head on spot. It was a beautiful day and it was nice to be able to concentrate on a few smaller items like the Blades, Team Orlik and I ended up thoroughly enjoying myself.

Re: Macc's England Trip...5-20th July 2009.
Because of the close proximity of Waddington and Coningsby, after all the departures I had wanted to see left, we journeyed over to Coningsby, arriving at runway 25 we were pretty sure we could hear Eagles then a few minutes later, these 4 taxied out...
Stood on a ==censored== heap for these...
however, all did not go quiet and soon 2 typhoons taxied out...
Then, more Eagles started up, which started dawning on us (we didn't know already) the Eagles were heading home and the last 3 of the 7 (I went directly home from Waddington) taxied out...
We were hoping they might come back and just as we were about to position to the other end...wokka, wokka, wokka...
As we got round to the other end one F-15D landed (044) but no others returned
Planning to go to Coningsby the day after we decided Lakenheath instead because Coningsby was pretty much dead.

Lakenheath...hell yeah.
7th July and non stop action from 8am-2pm...
The Eagles have one of the nicest start up sounds there is, it's up there with the rafale and the Jaguar, you go to Lakenheath and you sit there at 8, and you hear eagle after Eagle start up. Wonderful...
After Waddington and Coningsby our next stop was RAF Lakenheath, the sortie started at 8am so when we got there at 9am we could just see the last F15E depart into the mist as we past the 06 end. Shortly after arriving at the forest entrance, an F15E arrived, then another...then another, until 16 had landed (8 492FS and 8 494FS) so no C's had gone up (yet.)
Then we went over to the other side as aircraft started going to the last chance area, 493 FS joined in with this sortie and there was a lot of F15's to be had . We left at about 5 not long after the last landed and it all went quiet.
and for the last one, a few rays of sun...
