No northern neighbours aircraft present unfortunately, just a bagpipe band from Canada. Plenty of based aircaft and visitors, all US of course.
Based are the Hueys that guard the cruise missiles.
Two Tigers from Mountain Home had come in for the show.
This is why we went: the B-52 in action. Simulated emergency and start-up of eight engines simultaneously.
She looks beautiful in this pose, does'n t she?

Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

Part 2
Forgot to mention that the pictures posted have not been taken by me, but by my son Leo. I made some old fashioned slides, and stood to watch. At Minot the program included B-52, B-2 , B-1 and U-2.
These days gate-guards are about the hardest to get, as the base entry usually is the one (and only) location that you may not take pictures of.
The B-1 was in the static display, this was the day before. Positive touch-down.
B-2 did a fly-by, a circuit and flew away.
And another view of the smoker.
