This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

Re: My Flying Legends 2009 shots
Hi...
Great shots of BEAUTIFUL planes!!!!
I just wanna say that we need more of those pics.
Aviation is so much more than military jets and big airliners.
A tip: 15 and 16 of august there is a "Old Timer Fly-in" at Schaffen Diest airfield in Belgium. There will also be Old Timer cars and old military vehicles.
It is possible to ask for a "Spotters ID-Card" (I already have one).
Just go to http://flyin.dac.be/nl_index.html, there you can read everything about this show and how to obtain a "Spotters ID-Card"...
There is a button "SPOTTERS" on the left side of the screen.
Grtz.

Could not agree more with Zipper.I just wanna say that we need more of those pics.

Forget afterburners. Nothing beats the sound of a roaring Merlin.
These are real planes, not flying computers like nowadays.
Stunning shots. The Focke Wulf 190 is a new one for me. Is it an original??
I always say a boy can learn more at an airport than at any school.

The Focke Wulf is from France/Christophe Jacquard, it's a FW190A8/n the N stands for Nachbau (rebuilt) so it's not an original.

And if i can make an addition on that one...Mikester wrote:The Focke Wulf is from France/Christophe Jacquard, it's a FW190A8/n the N stands for Nachbau (rebuilt) so it's not an original.
The aircraft is a replica of the original thing... Constructed by Flugwerk GmbH in Germany and powered by a Russian Shvetsov ASh-82 a further developed from the Shvetsov ASh-62 (wich is a development from a Russian M-25 engine wich is a clone of the Wright R-1820 Cyclone)... Pff these russian guys are making it so hard to keep track on things hahaha. This all because of the original BMW engines aren't available anymore for these kind of things... Also an addition are the Diskbrakes instead of Drumbrakes that were originally fitted... Because of these alterations on the original plan, the CAA is not very happy with the one being build (wich is now finished) at Duxford with Spitfire LTD. This means that the french aren't that bad at all ... except from making smelly cheese and such ...

And a minivan to transport all that? Great pics though, I hope to be able to post a topic somewhat like this in a week when returning from Oshkosh (400+ warbirds expected).Mikester wrote:Canon EOS 1D Mk III - Canon EF 500 f/4.0L IS USM - Canon EF 300 f/2.8L IS USM - Canon EF 70-200 f/4L IS USM - Canon EF 24-105 f/4L IS USM - Canon EF 1.4x Extender II - Canon EOS 1D Mk III
