University of Technology in Delft (and EHRD) 21-01-'09

Post by Sven van Roij »

Today I made a trip to the University of Technology in Delft. They've got a nice collection of aircraft parts, one F-16A and a Alouette III.

I'm not very satisfied with the pics, difficult lighting and it's a bit stuffed-up inside their hangar, so I couldn't take a decent pic. However, I really had a great day, and would like to thank Jelle a thousand times for his support! Hope you guys like them:

4. She was used for the United Nations Transitional Authority (UNTAC) mission in Cambodia; for every mission she flew, she received a red elephant.

5. And with a helping hand, her tail rotor spined!

Nice shots of the TU Delft collection. I send the link to somebody who used to work there, I guess he will like to see it. I think I have been there once too.

Wow that Alouette brings back something! My dad contributed to a lot of those elephants (as in, flew the missions). I think he'll like seeing this. When I went to the Open Days of the TU Delft last time to check out some studies (finishing my VWO this year), they had just moved the whole collection to a different hangar because the old hall was undergoing construction.
