Looking for volunteers

Post by Hans »

All,

For strengthening of our editorial team, we are currently looking for volunteers for the following two positions;

Editor Movements Netherlands - Civil
On a monthly basis you will cover all civil movements on the main civilian airports in the Netherlands, excluding Amsterdam. Currently those airfields are Rotterdam, Groningen, Eindhoven, Lelystad and Maastricht-Aachen. Where military movements on those airfields are concerned you need to cooperate with the military editor. Although we have very good correspondents for most movements, you still need to pro-actively gather movements, background information and pictures. After some time you probably will also be made accountable for the civilian airports in Belgium.
A good knowledge of the English language in writing is a must, and because of the subject we prefer somebody living in the Netherlands or the Dutch language part of Belgium.

Editor Radio Activity
We are still looking for an editor for the now defunct Radio Activity section. As the new editor you will need to produce on a regular basis (at least once every two months) some work. But unlike our old Radio Activity section, which consisted mostly of scanner logs, we are now especially looking for somebody able to make thorough articles on a wide variety of subjects on aeronautical communications (like "What is ACARS", "How does SBS-1 work", "Tips when buying a scanner" etc). But also keeping record of frequencies and call signs -especially in Western Europe- and their changes, and making regular rundowns of those, will be part of your activities. And of course the interesting or funny logs are still to be collected and included in the magazine.
On the part of the frequencies you will also have a supportive role towards the Airfields Guides-team.
Again a good knowledge of the English language is a must, but there is no special preference on where you live.

Apart from making your contributions for the magazine, we prefer editors to regularly attend our "Editorial Saturdays", on which we finalize the magazine before it goes to the printer. Those Saturdays are held once a month in the neighbourhood of Schiphol.

When you are interested in one of these two posistions, or want more information, please write an e-mail to info@scramble.nl.

Sincere regards,
