Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

KNZY/NAS North Island March 2023 MIL/civ
Came in directly overhead, so I didn't see any MODEX and/or sqn marks
4 drop tanks + Cobham buddy refueling stores on centerline
lo-vis sqn markings? Hoping it was sun angle or paint issue and not deliberate
Contrast with jet above: one less ALQ-99 jamming pod and no HARM

Re: KNZY/NAS North Island March 2023 MIL/civ
Glad to hear everybody likes the Caribou. I missed it in the scanner, but looking at the photo it is clearly a part of Rampart's 'Kahuna' fleet. Rampart has had her for about 2 years, but she just came out to North Island 2 days before I shot this photo. One of less than half a dozen Turbo Caribou converted by PEN Turbo (although supposedly PEN has a couple dozen DHC-4s in storage that they may convert if they can find buyers). This page (https://www.airhistory.net/registration/N302PT) says she is ex-Kenyan AF.

It usually lives at Marana (KMZJ) I think?
