On our way to our vacation home in France we overnighted in a hotel at Chateauroux Airport. And that was, of course, a good opportunity to have a look around.
There are still quite some aircraft around but not as many as last year summer. At the North-side of the airport the French Air Force has set up camp with their E-3Ds and even built an inflatable hangar. As a result, touring to that side of the airport is off-limit. Which was a pity as there was a Qatar C-17 parked as well.
Anyway, on the aprons the following interesting aircraft were seen:
1. SKY Airlines A320neo F-WWDA has only arrived a couple of days earlier, together with a SaudiGulf neo, which couldn’t be photographed:

2. They have moved around the A330s from Hong Kong Airlines which ensured that this time I could photograph some new ones. Like this A330-300 F-WWYI:

3. Also arrived just a few days before is this brand new Iberia A350-900 F-WZGU:

4. This A320 VP-BKC has recently been returned to the lessor by Aeroflot and is now all white and being readied for a new operator:

5. White and new A330-900neo F-WWYY is also parked at CHX:

6. At the left side of the airfield there’s a small village with a soccer and boule field. From there you can have a look at a few aircraft parked on the taxiway to the head of the runway. Most interesting there is this AirX World Cargo A340-600 9H-LFC. It’s a former Iberia-aircraft:

7. This all white A330-300 9H-SME is registered to SmartLynx Malta:

8. Both former Armee de l’Air A340-200s are also present at Chateauroux. They are now owned by a company called LMO Aero and registered in the French civil register. This F-HFDD is the former F-RAJA:

9. I end my set with this Hong Kong Airlines A330-200 B-LHA:

Also present but not able (or needed) to photograph were another SmartLynx Malta A330, a HiFly A330, an Azul (purple livery) A330neo, a Garuda Indonesia A330neo, three former Alitalia A320s, a Windrose A321, an Onur Air A320, a Vallair A321, a British Airways A320neo, a Qatar C-17 and two E-3Ds of the French Air Force.
Hope you liked them!
Cheers!
