24OCT16; mishap with small military plane in Malta
According to a report on German radio, a small military plane crashed this morning shortly after take off from Malta-Luqa.

5 people killed according Times Of Malta. Aircraft involved should be a Luxembourg Metroliner.

In the past Luxembourg patrolled with an aircraft looking for pirates near Somalia. Perhaps it was headed that way?michel N wrote:Frontex denied it was one of their aircraft.

According to the info now on the Times of Malta site, Metro N577MX was leased to a Luxemburg company that operated it on behalf of French Customs on monitoring illegal trafficking in the Mediterranean. All 5 occupants apparently were French.

Following the French evening news, the 3 passengers were DGSE (Ministry of defense, Foreigh security) members. The two pilots were indeed also French, but civilians.

I don't think so.
