Trip to Hong Kong part 5 - Shenzhen

Post by d1667atlas »

Today I went to Shenzhen. I travelled by MTR train to Lo Wu on the ERL line. Stood in line for my Shenzhen Visa which cost 304RMB for a UK citizen, then crossed the border and purchased a sim for my ipad (I was ripped off -it only lasted about 90 mins.) then I got the train from Luo Hu to Hou Rui where you get the bus to the Airport. Don't go to Airport East Station as you will have to come back. As the bus approaches the terminal building, on your right you should be able to see a small terrace between 2 buildings. This terrace faces the Northern Runway and most things will eventually pass by. They did in the 90 minutes that I was there as they were taking off on this runway. You also have a view of the cargo terminal and the biz jets parked in a line facing you. You can get a few of them. To get to the terrace; as you leave the terminal heading towards the "Ground Transportation Centre" you will see some stairs leading down to a garden on your left. You go downs these and cross the garden diagonally towards the road. There will be lots of people in the garden, mostly smoking. Once through the garden onto the road head left towards the end of the road, now cross the road facing you and you will see that the buildings have a large fence with an opening facing you. Just go through the opening and turn right and the entrance to the terrace is on the left. Takes about 10 mins to get there. If you look on Google Earth you should be able to make out the route.
