Re: Scramble database APP released (Android)
Well done Scramble team! I know the amount of work that has gone into this!
Re: Scramble database APP released (Android)
Great work guys! Is there any chance we will also have the airfield guide in it in the near future? That make it an extremely valuable asset while on trip

Re: Scramble database APP released (Android)
The app has been availabel for some time already, just search for Scramble in the appstore.
However, I want to know what this means:

However, I want to know what this means:
'Unlimited' yet there is a limit to the number of records returned per search. So, is this an annoying 'marketing' ploy, or is there a bug that limits the result. Either way something is wrong.Thijs wrote:With this APP you have unlimited access to the various databases. It has a save search option so you can use the information while being off-line.

Hi,
I just got the app and I'd like to repeat ehusmann's question.
Will it be possible to get an unlimited number of records returned per search?
Thanks in advance.
Keep the good work going!

No and the reason is simple, but the solution more complex.PH-BRAD wrote:Hi,

The number of results is "limited" to 300 record (if i recall correctly) for most countries this means unlimited as the number of airframes in use by an airforce isn't more than 300. But there are also exceptions, for instance the US inventory.
Having more than 300 records returned will affect performance. And in this case we preferred performance above unlimited. Next to that, having 300 records is in most cases sufficient. With some "smart" searching you should be able to get the whole list of F-16s in use by the USAF within a few searches.

Re: Scramble database APP released
300? You mean 60 I assume, as that is what I get returned. Search on luftwaffe F-4F and you get 3701 till 3760. I am using the iPad/iPhone app by the way.
By the way, the performance reason is clear and a known issue of course. There is also a very good solution for it, it is called pagination.

Adjusted to 200 records shown, which was / is the original plan, but not yet implemented yet.

Re: Scramble database APP released
Any idea when the 'unlimited' version will become available? And will it require an upgrade of the app or will it be a serverside adjustment?

And why do we "only" get 30 records when searching on this website in the database?Thijs wrote:Adjusted to 200 records shown, which was / is the original plan, but not yet implemented yet.
