Civil agressor Flankers for the Netherlands?

I was curious to find out if there was any news about the "Dutch" Flankers that were to be stationed at Keflavik.
A quick search via Google resulted in the following - disappointing - news:

So that makes one reason less to make that weekend-trip to Reykjavik....

Ik was nieuwsgierig hoe 't met de "Nederlandse" Flankers op Keflavik zou zijn.
Een snelle search op Google leverde het volgende teleurstellende nieuws op:

Dus in elk geval 1 reden minder voor een lang weekend Reykjavik....

To keep the language police away: these plans have fallen through, and permission to use Keflavik is withdrawn by the Icelandic government, that is describing the firm as an unreliable party which no-one wants to do bussiness with. The people behind this project seem to be unreachable. It is unknown what will happen to the jets that should have been bought already.

If they're in debt for 1.2 billion with some Russians, they will probably remain unreachable for quite some time.

But seriously: this amount of money sounds too high to be true. Besides that, I'm still wondering where those Flankers would be right now.

Forgot that the language is English on this part of the forum....
I've edited my original post, changed it to English (except for the quote in Dutch from that news site). Thanks to Aviodomefriend, I don't have to translate that newsquote anymore.

I'm not sure what it is, but I really get an 'EasyLife' (the investment fund) feeling about this whole project.. How on earth would any European air force currently cutting down its budgets be interested to waste money on outsourced pilots (rather than give their own pilots money to fly)?! Air Forces can train against Czech, Hungarian and Swedish Gripens for 'free' and now they would pay lots and lots of money to a company performing the exact same job? I really don't get it..

I guess they were exactly one month too late with this news.....

If he is serious about this ECA programme, I wonder if the 283 million has really been paid, or if they are only commitments if the programme goes on? If the millions have really been paid, I don't hope they will be used by some "new rich" guys for villa's, boats and a new identity on a small tropical island....
