RPLL (Manila Intl) has seen the following C-17s,

MAA and MAB LHOB240,241 resp on the 14th
ZZ177 RRR6692 RAF,99 Sqn on the 16th
177703 CFC4003 RCAF,429 Sqn inbound from PHIK at this time.

Also an Indian AF C-17A has been reported on the 16th.

C-17 from Hawaii frequently fly to Tacloban via Andersen AFB, Guam.

I dont know if they shuttle around Philippines.

Swedish AF 845 + one transported material from Sweden to Tacloban. Specially communication and IT equipment for the three UN command bases.

One of the Swedish AF fly back directly to Sweden. Not optimal for the Hecules.

The over shuttle around on the problem areas during at least a week. Very optimal for the Hercules.

Camp Aguinaldo, Philippines.

Marine Corps Lt. Gen. John E. Wissler, commander of the 3rd MEF, was designated as the JTF 505 commander by Navy Adm. Samuel Locklear III; US Pacific Commander, Nov 13.

The Joint Task Force continues the work begun by the 3rd Marine Exp Brigade, the initial US military response to the Philippine governments request for support and critical relief supplies for the typhoon-ravaged island nation.

JTF headquarters here, near the Philippine capital of Manila, will coordinated US military relief efforts and will work closely with senior representatives from the State Department, the US Agency for International Development and other US agencies to ensure continued, timely and swift responses to requests from the Philippine government, officials said. Wissler noted that the long-standing partnership and friendship of the Unitsed States and the Philippines enabled a rapid response to the crisis.

The US Joint Task Force of course work as other countries under the command of the UN leading saving operations also early on place.

The UN command base in Tacloban is the first, and two others are soon operating. The UN also are on way to erect och very large command base with help of the Nordic countries (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Estland).

And they are change commander. And maybee severl commanders.

The commander of Amphibious Squadron 11 is reliefed. One other commander is relieved because of bribery?

I hope I mixed the letters, and read the message wrong, but several internet sources tells the same.

The first UN base camp in Tacloban is in place and now serves as accommodatin and work space for some 50 UN air workers. Another two base camps with communications centres, accommodation and work space will be set up in Guiunan and Ormoc.

So far, the MSB has dispatched four flights with emergency relief in the form av base camps, IT and communications centres, and emergency aid to the Philippines; and about 15 MSB field staff are working there operationally.

About 50 UN aid workers have moved in and are now working with the coordination of the disaster response mission in the Philippines.

Simultaneously, the MSB is planning on sending additional but larger base camps.

The need for accomodation and work space for the UN and other humanitarian bodies is immense, so we have been asked to dispatched one of our large base camps, which can accomodate between 150-200 people, said Patrik Jansson, operations manager on the MSB´s Operations Section.

The Swedish C-130 845, 848 transported the vital parts of these equipment from Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden and Estonia.

Several air transport were made with civil flights, such as personnel, as doctors, engineers, etc.

36 Contingency Response Group sends more airmen, equipment to Tacloban.

Airmen from the 36th Contingency Response Group packed their bags, equipment and vehicles and departed from the flightline Andersen AFB 15th Nov to support Operation Damayan in Tacloban, Philippines.

Airmen from the 36th Contingency Response Group packed their bags, equipment and vehicles and departed from the flightline Andersen AFB 15th Nov to support Operation Damayan in Tacloban, Philippines.

This C-17A,05-5147 TREK906 and 05-5151 TREK901 have been operating between Kadena,Anderson and the Philippines for the last few days.

Yesterday arrived USS Ashland (LSD 48) and USS Germantown (LSD 42), with embarked elements of the 31st Marine Exp Unit (MEU), Naval Beach Unit (NBU) 7 and Commander Amphibious Squadron (PHIBRON) 11, arrvied in Leye Gulf off the Philippines coast Nov. 20 in support of Operation Damayan eventual replacing Washington.

The ships and 31st MEU brought with them equipment capable of clearing debris from roads and creating and transporting portable water. They also broughts food and other supplies to remote areas still in need of assistance.

Personnel and equipment will be moved from ship to shore using amphibious vehicles embarked on board the two ships from NBU 7, which include Landing Craft Utilities (LCU) and Landing Craft Air Cushions (LCAC).

They also have with them some unspecified helicopters.

Today a second flight of the KDC-10 left for the Philipines from Eindhoven, carrying another 30 tonnes of aid-materrials. Tomorrow KLM will send a 744 Freighter. Yes, it is allowed to fly and the carrier won't even charge for it...

Everything coming from the Northern countries for Philippines is free for UN. It is for the taxepayer to pay. Were is even accident monies each year for UN from Sweden to use for "accidents". Plus the money collected some millions dollars.

Even IKEA Ingvar Kamprad send a lot of money. He spend much a lot more money than China on Philippines.

Certainly all of the US efforts are free for Philippines.
