Re: Cervia April 2010
Dear friends,
There is still nothing official from Cervia.
Local newspapers wrote that Friday we will have the Frecce Tricolori and 4-6 F-16 Flying in the morning from 10 to 12, plus a few civil aircrafts from local air clubs, mostly Cessnas and ULMs.
Most probably Friday admission into the base will be by invitation only. Sorry.
On Saturday nothing will fly and the PAN should be already back in Rivolto.
Admission to static display will be free to all.
We really hope to see some jets from other NATO country as well more than a few from each Italian Air force Unit. But, again there is no informations about other jets other then F-16 and 339.
If you can't have acces to the base on Friday mind there is a public and free car parking near the South end of the strip (I'm sorry it is not visible on Google Earth due to clouds).
It is not the best position for spotting but if you have a 300+ zoom you will have no problem.
Just mind to stay inside the free car parking and you will have no problem, but stay away from the fields and go there early in the morning since more than 4000 visitors are expectet, streets will be crowed as well the car parking.
Good food and beverage are available from a van that sells inside the parking.
Hope this informations are useful to you, I will post more as they come, probably after Easter.

Re: Cervia April 2010
latest news: one good and one bad.
The good one is that F-16 will fly on both day, Friday and Saturday.
The very bad new is that admission will be by invitation only on both days.
Frecce Tricolori will land in Cervia on Frideau early morning, display around 10-11 a.m. and go back to Rivolto after midday.

no visitors from NATO country, it will be an all Itaiian party. Mostly air force jets and a couple from the Navy. Many civil types too. Hope to meet some of you in Cervia. Cheers.

What sadness, always worse!
Re: Cervia April 2010
I got some info from my friend masterjet/Giovanni.
2 New special painted aircraft today in Cervia!
One only the fin and one all along the aircraft. Soon we'll see if they are nice or not..... I saw a small mms pic of the entire one and it looks good (it seems.. the pic is really small...)
Sad it was not open to public. Unfortunately Weather is not good at the moment.

Re: Cervia April 2010
So we had 2 Special Colours yesterday, one painted frehand by airbrush by myself!
Weather was not good at all and airshow was very short. PAN just made a couple of formations and Harriers didn't come at all.
Today is raining again but we are going back to base for another try, let's hope!
If you want to see some of my photos please tell me where to post them, I'm new to this forum.
Thanks
Paolo

These aren't good reasons for not taking some nice pictures, especially if we consider the possibilities that modern digital cameras give us...Paolo Maglio wrote:Weather was not good at all and airshow was very short.
